10/09/2021BYKKO started 2021 being named in the top three companies for the 2021 Empower Women in Shared Mobility Program – EmpowerWISM by Movmi.
The program, targeted at shared mobility companies with women in lead roles, attracted applicants from across the globe with BYKKO announced in the final three companies alongside Paris/Singapore-based GeoTwin and LA-based ChargerHelp! with the latter announced as the winner.
BYKKO Managing Director Monica Zarafu says being part of the program has provided a range of opportunities for BYKKO to connect with other female-led transport businesses from around the globe.
“How we move from A to B is constantly changing and these businesses are at the forefront of the industry making real change in how we use transport system from mass transit right through to micro-mobility solutions.”
“BYKKO’s mid-term update explains the successes so far this year including deploying our third-generation electric bike. This is the first of its kind in shared mobility with mid-drive motor and carbon belt. The e-bike is fully automated meaning all of the bike’s functions turn on when the bike is undocked.”
“It has real time monitoring with safety sensors embedded to report any problems such as flat batteries, broken cable locks or faulty brakes.”
“The technology really helps to create a great experience for our riders.”
With the pandemic still restricting many, cycling has been one of the go to activities with all the major cities reporting steep increases in cycle trips. BYKKO has been experiencing the same phenomenon, with schemes showing increased trips.
“All our schemes that are still operating are proving popular and we hope the trend continues as restrictions start to ease.”
“We are also focusing on business to business partnerships and have made solid moves into the destination experience space. We will see our first scheme with NRMA holiday parks come online later this year and we hope these will be a popular addition to the facilities available in these parks.”
